Wetsuit for SUP
Have you got a paddleboard but need a wetsuit so you can spend more hours on your paddleboard all year round? Then you've come to the right place, because here we have a large selection of SUP wetsuits for both adults and kids.
On this page you'll find a huge selection of quality wetsuits from recognised brands such as Watery, Aqua Sphere and Orca.
Do you need a GOOD wetsuit for SUP or for your inflatable kayak? Of course, you can find it here at Watery.dk, because we only sell good wetsuits.
But are you a little unsure about what you need to consider when buying a wetsuit? We'll explain it to you here:
1. Made of elastic neoprene
This fabric/material allows the wetsuit to stretch to the body, so it can better adapt to each individual
2. Glued rather than sewn
The best wetsuits are glued at the joints, as this avoids the water flow that occurs when the wetsuit is sewn together. This should be avoided as it helps to further lower the temperature in the wetsuit
3. The wetsuit should be easy to put on and take off
It's no use if you are unable to put on and take off the wetsuit yourself, for example when the zip is not attached to the wetsuit with a drawstring. Therefore, the zip must be connected with a string so that you can easily pull the zip to open the wetsuit
4. Great buoyancy
If you're not already a great swimmer, you need the wetsuit to give you as much buoyancy as possible. This is really important as it gives you a great advantage and saves you a lot of energy that you can use on other things
A wetsuit can quickly become disgusting if you don't treat it properly from the start. Therefore, you should do the following four things EVERY time you use your wetsuit. This will greatly extend its lifespan:
1. Rinse the suit thoroughly inside and out with fresh water
2. Hang the suit to dry immediately afterwards with the outside facing out and leave it there to dry
3. Then turn it over so that the inside is facing outwards and leave it hanging like that. That way it's easier to put on next time
4. When you put it back on, make sure you're not wearing a watch. Otherwise, put it on slowly so you don't make holes or marks in the suit
A wetsuit is made of neoprene, which allows you to stay warm while you're in the water. Neoprene is a type of synthetic rubber that is filled with tiny air bubbles. This makes the material very flexible, but most importantly, it provides excellent insulation. You need this when water temperatures are low.
The way it works is that water enters the wetsuit, but instead of escaping immediately, it stays inside. Unlike a dry suit, a wetsuit allows the water to come into contact with your body, but that doesn't mean you'll freeze. In fact, it is your own body heat that ensures that the wetsuit works as it should. It heats up the water, and you have your very own self-heating radiator on your body. Unlike a radiator, the wetsuit is easy to move around in, super flexible and weighs next to nothing. If you plan to swim in the sea outside summer, the wetsuit is a must-have.
There are many good reasons to buy a wetsuit for SUP. Of course, you need something to use it for, but if you're a diver or open water swimmer, you simply can't do without it. But beyond that, the wetsuit is perfect for those of you who spend a lot of time paddleboarding. The wetsuit is especially important in the cooler months, so you can stay on your inflatable paddleboard all year round. The wetsuit helps you keep your body temperature up, even when you don't think you need it.
We can all agree that you can't swim around in March without wearing something to protect you from the cold, but the same is true in the late spring and early autumn months. Even if you don't think the water is that cold when you get in, your body will quickly cool down if you're in the water for more than a few minutes. This is where a wetsuit can help you maintain the right temperature at all times and prevent you from getting into dangerous situations where you become completely hypothermic.
Your regular swimwear can be used when it's at its hottest, but otherwise you need a wetsuit. It's not only the safest option, but it will also help you perform much better.
In addition to the wetsuit itself, you should also consider other equipment for open water swimming in lakes, oceans, and water openings. In addition to the wetsuit, we recommend the following:
Last but not least, glue specifically made to hold neoprene together should also be considered.
We're pretty sure we have exactly the wetsuit you need. Whether you're an open water swimmer, triathlete or spend a lot of time on a SUP board. Have a look at our large selection on this page, and you're sure to find a wetsuit for you, no matter your level and wallet size.
