Diving mask
Find your new diving mask among our large (and cheap) selection of quality masks for diving and swimming.
According to Watery, you should never be without either swim goggles or diving masks, as it hurts, stings and gives red eyes to swim with open eyes underwater. A pair of diving goggles will of course also be a great solution.
Because of this, we carry a large and wide selection of diving masks.
The diving masks are great for both kids and adults, they are available both with and without a nose and with or without strengths. For this reason, there should be plenty of opportunity to find a suitable diving mask for you and/or your kids that you/they will be happy with.
The diving masks can be used both for swimming in the swimming pool, for open water or for diving on the beach.
You can get a lot of fun from using a diving mask on the beach, for example, because here you can experience life underwater with animals and plants. You or your kid might also be lucky enough to find a conch or another nice seashell on your diving trip.
The diving masks are also available in different colours, so you can decide for yourself what suits you best.
PS: If you are on the other hand looking for a dedicated snorkel set with both mask and snorkel connected together, see our large selection of snorkel sets here. Or if you need something you can't find here, check our category with all our snorkelling equipment.13
Just to mention it once and for all: There is a HUGE difference in the quality of the different masks.
At least if you buy from other places.
Here at Watery.ie, we have tested all our different diving masks and ensured that they live up to our high standards. But what you have to pay attention to anyway is:
Firstly, if the lens itself is antifog treated. It is pretty important that you can see out of the masks when you first get into the water. And some diving masks have a tendency to fog up fairly quickly, and to put it mildly, it's a pain in the ass to remove this in the middle of the ocean.
And if you want to be on the safe side, buy an antifog spray here and give the mask a few sprays before you head out into the water.
Another thing is whether it is easy to adjust. So can adjust the strap at the back so it will fit you as well. After all, we have all kinds of different sized heads, so it is fairly essential, to also avoid water getting in, that it fits your head.
Whether your diving mask should be with or without a nose is of course up to you.
It is often a choice about what you think is most comfortable.
Some prefer a diving mask with a nose, as it helps to prevent water from getting in the nose when swimming or diving with the mask.
Others prefer a diving mask without a nose (these we have from the Aqua Sphere brand), as they find it more comfortable to feel free around the nose.
And let's not forget to mention, that there are also the very large full-face diving masks (diving mask with built-in snorkel) - which cover the entire face. These are good for diving with in warmer countries.
If you plan to snorkel with the diving mask, it is typically preferred to have a snorkel with one's diving mask, so that it becomes a snorkel set.
We also have another variant which is from the recognized brand Beco, this diving mask with snorkel is intended for adults but also for kids, the product comes in both red and blue.
As mentioned, both sets are equipped with a snorkel and diving mask that covers the nose.
The snorkel can be attached to the diving mask, which makes the set easier to use, as it is fixed close to the head, which most people prefer.
On this site, we have gathered some diving masks, which have strength built into the glass.
There are many varieties of diving masks with strength, both in terms of strength but also colour and size.
There is a junior mask, which is made for kids or adults with a smaller face. This size is made to avoid the mask becoming so large that water gets in while diving (diving masks can, like swim goggles, be tightened by using the strap, so that the size fits the user of the mask).
In recent times, swim goggles and diving masks with prescription strength has been developed.
This basically mean, that when you put on your swim goggles or your diving mask with strength, the experience will be the same as if you had put on/in your glasses or contact lenses.
This is a huge advantage for some people as it means they don't need to worry about the hassle of contact lenses or headaches.
Diving masks for kids of all ages. Snorkelling and diving are not just for adults - diving is for everyone! And as such, we obviously also have diving masks that are specially designed for kids, regardless of whether they are to be used for a trip to the swimming pool or for use on the beach. When picking the right diving mask for kids, it is important to remember that we all have different face shapes, and therefore it is important to find a diving mask that fits well on the kid's face.
An EASY way to test whether the diving mask is the right model for your kid's face is to do the following:
1: Get the kid to hold the diving mask up to face, and then suck in nice and easy with the nose.
2: When the kid puts on the mask and does this, it is critical that no air should slip into the diving mask. This will mean that water can potentially get into the mask, which of course you don't want.
Another diving mask that is very popular for kids is this Beco Ari diving mask which is one of our best-selling diving masks for kids. The trick to finding the correct diving mask can of course also be easily used by adults, so you can find a diving mask that fits your face perfectly.
