A swimsuit is not just a swimsuit. Although the different models in many ways resemble each other and ultimately serve the same purpose – to make you look good on the beach or in the pool, or to improve your performance during swim training – their similarities are not exhaustive. On Watery.ie you will find a large selection of swimsuits that, despite visual and functional similarities, offer unique features for both women and girls.
Are you a swimmer or love exercise in the water? Choose a swimsuit with an aerodynamic fit, high leg cut and racerback that ensures minimal water resistance and optimal freedom of movement. See our competition swimsuits.
Unlike the regular swimsuits, which typically cut in a V at the hip, these are designed with leg-like extensions. This cut helps cover more of the thighs and buttocks, which can give a feeling of greater security and comfort. Many women prefer this type for the extra coverage it offers, especially when they want to feel more at ease and less exposed at the beach or in the pool. This style is ideal for those seeking a discreet and flattering solution that still allows freedom of movement.

Swimsuits with a skirt have quickly gained popularity, especially among women with curves. A skirt not only adds a stylish and feminine touch to the swimsuit, but also serves a practical purpose by covering parts of the thighs and buttocks. This can provide increased confidence and comfort, as it discreetly hides body areas that some may feel insecure about showing. The swimsuit with skirt is therefore an attractive choice for those who want to combine fashion and functionality by the water.

Slimming swimsuits are a popular choice among many. These suits are designed to shape and tighten specific areas of the body, such as around the bust and the rear. They offer a form of support that can accentuate the figure and provide a more streamlined silhouette. This type of swimsuit can be particularly beneficial for those who want a visual reduction of body contours, while providing comfortable support during water activities.

As the due date approaches, many women naturally experience an increase in body size. This creates a need for special maternity swimsuits that are designed to provide extra room and support around the belly and breasts. These tailored swimsuits ensure comfort and support, which is essential since it is important to be able to move freely and comfortably in the water, whether birth is near or not.

In addition, you will also find swimsuits, which, unlike the various types of swimsuits mentioned, are much more intended for relaxing at the beach or for fun and play in the pool.
If you are a plus size woman, you should of course have a swimsuit that matches that. ASwimsuit should fit properly, whether you are going to swim in a pool or be on the beach in it. That means you should feel comfortable in it, and that it should have the right fit and support in the right places.
In addition, your swimsuit should preferably be able to hide the parts of your body you do not want to show. In our range you will be able to find a good selection of plus size swimsuits.
There are several factors that come into play when you need to find the right swimsuit. It is not only a matter of personal taste, but also which function your swimsuit should serve. Will it be used for competitive swimming, exercise swimming, play or just relaxing on the beach?
To find the best swimsuit for you, you can ask yourself the following questions:
Will it primarily be used in the pool or on the beach?
Will it be used for play, exercise swimming or competitive swimming?
Should it be your primary swimsuit or an extra one?
How much does how it looks matter to you?
By answering these questions you can quickly narrow down your options - and we have made it incredibly easy to choose the right one with our guide / product selector, where you just enter your needs and then the system selects the right one for you. You can find the guide here: Product selector - Choose the right swimsuit.
"But which swimsuit is then the best?"
This question is often asked, but the truth is that there is no single definitive answer. The best swimsuit depends on your needs and priorities. If comfort is the most important, a swimsuit with wide straps and a high leg cut can be ideal, as it ensures a comfortable fit in the water. If you are a competitive swimmer, a streamlined suit designed for minimal water resistance is the best choice.
Do you prefer lounging on the beach or sitting by the pool? Then the visual aspect is probably more important to you. Here a swimsuit with a modern design and a flattering fit can be the right choice. Many choose a black swimsuit for a classic look, but there are many other colors and patterns that can suit your style. (Find our black swimsuits here)
Therefore there is no one "best swimsuit" – it is entirely about who you are and what you need.
If you are unsure about which swimsuit to choose, that is completely understandable. Swimsuits come in all sorts of sizes, and like everything else, it is important that you choose the right size for your new piece of swimwear.
And unfortunately each brand has its own measurements for sizes, so you cannot just look at your existing swimsuits and go with the same size: But to solve this problem and to make it easy for you, our product experts have actually made an incredibly clear and easy size guide for our swimsuits - you just have to choose the brand you want to look at.
When you look at the many different swimsuits on this page, there are some things you should pay attention to before you choose your new swimwear for the beach or the pool:
The last is when the leg cut sits - that is how high on the leg. Here it can either be low or high.
The low leg cut is seen again with the more closed suits, which will not show much skin around the legs.
On the other hand there is the high leg cut, which endurance swimmers and fitness swimmers especially prefer, as this gives more freedom and a more sporty look.
An example of this is this Watery Eco Sunkissed Solid from our own brand.
When it comes to the back design there are mainly “racerback” and “U-back”
The most popular, and the one most women/girls prefer, is made with the so-called “racerback”, where the straps cross at the back, which provides a much more snug fit on the body, meaning that it actually stays in place during swimming / movement in the water. In addition, this back design also gives a smarter and sportier look. An example of this “racerback” back is for example Arena Team Challenger.
On the other hand there is the U-back, which comes with high and low back cutouts. It is when the back resembles a 'U' on the back, as the straps do not meet in the middle but go up on each side. This type of back is ideal for women with a slightly larger bust and some curves and is often equipped with a built-in bra, so the larger bust can be held in place in the suit.
Overall,so a distinction is made with regard to the straps between thin or wide straps.
Where the one with wide straps provides a natural, good support for the bust as well as good comfort over the shoulders and down the back. Therefore the wide straps are also most often seen on swimsuits with low legs and U-back. An example of such a one is the popular Speedo Endurance+ Medalist.
On the other hand there are models with thinner straps, which in turn give a more sporty look and at the same time less feeling over the shoulders. An example of such a Swimsuit is this Arena Team Challenger.
Some swimsuits last up to five years, while others must be discarded after each summer season. The difference lies in the treatment of the suit. With proper care the lifespan can be significantly extended. Without appropriate maintenance the suit quickly becomes uncomfortable to use, it loses its fit due to stretching, and the seams can come apart.
If you want to avoid that, you should follow these seven easy tips to extend the life of your swimwear:
A swimsuit does not benefit from being tossed harshly around in a washing machine, just as it does not benefit from lots of soap. So for heaven's sake do not wash it in the washing machine.
This is probably the most important thing for the durability and lifespan of your swimsuit. Simply put, immediately after you have taken the suit off, rinse it under the tap with as cold water as possible (and without using soap).
It is just a very bad idea to wring the suit dry, as it greatly stretches it, while also damaging the fibers inside it.
Instead of leaving it wet and clammy for the next time you need it, make sure to hang the suit to dry so it does not start to smell.
Although it could probably be very cozy, it does no good for your swimsuit to share it with your friends. They do not have the same body shape as you, which means you risk it changing fit.
Just as you should not put it in the washing machine, you should also not put it in the tumble dryer, as that stretches it.
Just as soap must not get on the swimsuit, you should of course also not put it on in the shower, where soap often comes close again. So for good order, and for cleanliness, take the swimwear off before you go into the shower.
With these guidelines you should have a swimsuit that lasts for several years. And if you want to read a more detailed account of the advice, you can read our great posts about extending the life of your swimwear.
When it comes to your little girl, what is trendy these years? To find out you need to keep up quite a bit with fashion, because within swimsuits for children, trends change almost year to year.
Therefore today's most popular suits can easily be “out-of-wear” already next year. Because a black swimsuit for women is not necessarily as exciting for children as it is stylish for adults. Therefore it can also be easier for children to go a bit wild with swimsuits in different colors, and it is just a matter of taking advantage of it before they become too fashion conscious.

There is a significant difference in sizes and designs across various brands. Therefore, it is important to follow the different size guides, which often list measurements such as chest, waist, and length.
It depends on individual preferences, but it is recommended to consider factors like leg cut, back design, and materials to find the best match.
