All Swimming Equipment

We know what it means to be a swimmer. And we also know what it takes. It requires a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and it requires a lot of equipment (at least if you ask our coaches...). In almost all Danish swimming clubs, having the right swim gear is a requirement.

We have gathered all the best swim gear from the most well-known and popular brands on the market. You'll find it all on this page. So, you can just dive right in! If you have any problems or questions, we're here to help you in the live chat, via email, or on the phone.

What swimming equipment should you invest in?

It's a good question because swimming equipment can include a variety of things. Some clubs have more requirements for your swim gear than others. And how do you find out what your club's specific opinions and expectations regarding swim gear are?

If you're new to the club and it's your first time investing in swim gear, it can be nearly impossible to figure out. The club can't expect that from you either. Therefore, we've listed below the most basic swim gear that should be part of your investment:

  • Swim Fins: Swim fins are a pair of "rubber feet" that you put on. Swim fins provide a larger surface area for kicking in the water, which results in greater propulsion. They will likely be the most essential and most used item in your gear. Both Biofuse swim fins from Speedo and our Arena Powerfin Pro are very popular choices.

  • Swim Paddles: Swim paddles are rubber plates that you place on your arms so you can concentrate on developing and using your legs. They are frequently used swimming equipment because you often have specific leg sets where you use swim paddles.

  • Finger Paddles: Finger paddles are smaller plates that you place on your palms. They allow you to push even harder against the water. Finger paddles are typically not part of essential swim gear until you reach a certain size, age, and strength (usually 11-12 years).

  • Pull Buoy: A pull buoy is a type of rubber plate that you place between your legs, so you can't move them. This allows you to focus on training your arms. A pull buoy is very popular throughout Denmark as part of swimming equipment. It is used early on in, for example, instructional classes. This Speedo Elite Pull Buoy is a highly popular choice.

  • Snorkel: You know what a snorkel is, right? It ensures that you can breathe underwater, allowing you to concentrate on using your legs, arm stroke, water pressure, or other aspects without worrying about breathing. Snorkels are used as swimming equipment at a later age.

All this swimming equipment, and more, we have compiled in a good blog post where we give you tips on ten specific swim items you should use for both competitions and swim training.

The right swimming equipment for swim training can help you improve your technique

When you want to improve and focus on specific technical aspects, the right swim training equipment comes to your aid.

Do you tend not to reach down and complete your arm stroke in the crawl? Then put on a pair of finger paddles. They make it easier to push and feel, so you can reach all the way down to your hip before completing your arm stroke. You can also use a snorkel if you want to improve your body position in the water. Here, a snorkel can help stabilize your entire swim. If you're interested in learning more about how to use different swimming equipment optimally, you can read our blog post on the topic.

Swimming equipment can be highly effective when you want to reach a higher level in your swimming technique. It's no wonder that the world's best swimmers like Michael Phelps, Jeanette Ottesen, Rikke Møller, and Katie Ledecky also use the recommended swim gear. It just works!

Swimming gear is also a good tool to help children learn to swim. Our swimming gear is not only for the best or elite swimmers. Our swimming gear can be used down to new swimmers or children who are learning to swim with the help of swimming equipment.

When you need to help small children get started with swimming, it's important that they can use their legs more continuously. Here, the swim paddle is essential as training equipment. If a child needs to learn to stay above water, a simple snorkel is also a good piece of equipment.

In this way, you can use swimming equipment in various contexts and for swimmers at different levels. Therefore, you can certainly find some swimming equipment to improve your swimming technique that you may not have thought of!

Swimming Equipment for Kids

Most children love a good swim or splashing around in the water. Therefore, it's beneficial for all children to learn to swim at an early age. It will benefit them for the rest of their lives. So, do your child a favor and get them started with swimming. You can check out our category "Swimming Equipment for Kids" to get an overview of all our swimming equipment for children.

Your child will definitely also need some swimming accessories. However, it's important to start with the right swimming gear, such as a good pair of swim goggles. The right swimming gear for children ensures that your child has a good and fun experience in the water.

You probably know it from your own training. Is there anything as motivating as new training clothes? No, right? Your children probably have the same attitude. New swimming gear for kids will motivate them to do even better in their swimming training. And when they're ready to get out of the pool, a kids' bathrobe can be a good way to stay warm and for easy changing.
