Competition swim trunks
Here you'll find the best and most popular competition swim trunks, from all the known brands: Speedo, TYR, MP og Arena. Because you want to win, right? You'll do so a lot more when wearing some of these, because you will practically fly through the water. This is the reality with a pair of real competition swim trunks, as the ones you will find here. Two of the pairs you'll find here, is for instance MP Xpresso swim trunks and TYR Avictor Omaha Nights. Explore the rest below.
Competing and swimming is the best thing in the world, right? This combined with winning, in our opinion mean that you just have the world's best leisure interest. But what if you could win even more? Then swimming would be 1000 times more fun.
That's precisely why you should get hold of a pair of proper competition swim trunks (if you don't already have a pair). As in, a proper pair. Then we promise that you will stand on the podium many more times in the future. And that's what it's all about!
Because a pair of competition swim trunks are vastly different than your regular swim trunks that you train in. They are produced in different fabrics and must fit tighter to your body.
A question we often get from confused parents, is how tight a pair of competition swim trunks should be.
Some older swimmers can often convince younger swimmers, that their trunks have to fit so tightly, that the trunks can barely be drawn over the bum, or that they have to take 20-30 minutes to put on, but that's not necessary the case at all!
Because in situations like these, the swim trunks end up being WAY too tight, to such a degree that you end up not being able to fully move and swim around. With a pair of competition swim trunks, you should be able to move exactly as if you were not wearing them - if not, they have the opposite effect, and you will end up swimming more slowly.
As a rule of thumb, we always say that a pair of competition swim trunks should be approx. 2-4 UK sizes smaller than your regular training swim trunks. This is what most competitive swimmers live by, and this ways you avoid that it affects your mobility.
A different way to measure your trunks, is by putting your finger under the fabric at the knee of your competition swim trunks. You should be able to "lift" your swim trunks 2-3 cm. from the leg. If you can do this, it's the right size. If not, they are probably too tight.
The swim trunks should therefore have a tight fit, but it shouldn't be a competition about who can put on the smallest possible pair.
And last but not least, we have written a great blog post about how to best take care of your new competition swim trunks. Find it right here.
