When you get home from the water

When you receive your package with your new long swim trunks, you just need to remember a few pieces of advice. If you follow these - and the instructions that are in the swim trunks, you can have your swim trunks for many years.

The manufacturers have fulfilled their part of the bargain, in terms of choosing the right materials, and the best fit in terms of seams, stitches and edges, and now you must do yours. Be sure to take care of your swim trunks.

In this case it's all about what you do with them when you get home from the water or the pool. You must rinse them in clean water from the tap - preferably cold, so that you rinse away the salt, chlorine or dirt. Beach sand may be soft to walk on at the beach, but when it comes into contact with clothing, it acts like sandpaper and will tear your swim trunks to shreds if not removed.

Chlorine and salt are also a bit of an issue for your new swim trunks, and if it is not rinsed out and you simply just hang them up to dry, the structure of the fabric will slowly but surely be destroyed, and then things go wrong.

If you're considering drying your new long swim trunks in the dryer or on the clothesline in the direct sun, then that's a no-go. Sunlight is terrible for clothes, and too much heat, as you for instance find in the dryer, has the same effect.

It adds a lot of wear and tear on the swim trunks. Take care of your things and if you treat them as you are advised, they will last for a lot longer.
