Swim goggles with prescription
Being able to see sharply in the water is crucial for a good swimming experience. If you are nearsighted or farsighted, you will find, here on this page, prescription swimming goggles in many variants (either nearsighted or farsighted), both for adults and children.
At Watery we have gathered Ireland's largest selection: our own popular Watery models, supplemented by the classic Primotec prescription swimming goggles.
So you can easily find the perfect goggles that suit your vision and refractive errors.
It can seem overwhelming to find the exactly right prescription swimming goggles - especially when there are models for nearsighted, farsighted, children and adults. To make it easier, here is a quick overview of which goggles suit your specific needs. (We occasionally change our selection, so the overview below may be out of date)
Adults - nearsighted (approx. -1,0 to -8,0/-10,0)
If you are between -1,0 and -8,0: choose Watery Clivia (wide power range) or Watery Ridley (-1,5 to -7,0) for a more streamlined fit.
If you train often and want extra stability: Watery Raven Active (-2,0 to -6,0).
If you want a light and comfortable allround: Watery Naida (-2,0 to -5,0).
If you have high myopia (-9,0 to -10,0): choose Eyeline (down to -10,0).

Different power on right/left eye
If you want to mix powers, the solution is replaceable lenses like Aqua Sphere Eagle (single lenses). Otherwise our support will help you find the best match in finished models.
Undecided between two powers?
For swimming many choose the weaker of the two for the most comfort and a calmer view.
Note: If you have astigmatism (refractive error), see the dedicated section further down for realistic solutions and alternatives.
Choosing prescription swimming goggles is about more than just knowing your prescription numbers. Here are the most important steps so you can find a pair that gives you sharp vision and a comfortable swim.
1. Choose the right power
Use the power from your regular glasses as a starting point.
If you are unsure between two powers, choose the weaker one - this usually gives a calmer view underwater.
Remember that powers come in fixed steps (typically 0,5).
2. Same or different power per eye
If you have the same power in both eyes, you just choose one pair.
If you have different powers, you can in some models combine lenses (e.g. Aqua Sphere Eagle). If that is not possible in that model, our customer service will guide you to the best compromise.
3. Choose the right lens type
Clear lens → best for pools and dark environments.
Smoke or mirror → ideal for outdoor and sunny conditions.
Tinted lenses → can give extra contrast in certain lighting conditions.
4. Fit and sealing
Narrow face: choose a smaller model or a children’s model to avoid leaks.
Medium/wide face: most adult models fit, but try between e.g. Ridley (streamlined) and Clivia (allround).
Look for a soft silicone rim for comfort and sealing.
5. Extra features
Anti-fog treatment: gives clear vision from the start, but supplement with an anti-fog spray for longer durability.
UV protection: important for outdoor use.
Adjustable nose bridge and straps: gives better fit and comfort.
At Watery we also sell prescription goggles for children, so they can have the same great experience in the water as adults. The models are made for smaller faces with soft edges and adjustable
stropper, so they sit comfortably and snug.
For nearsighted children, Watery Matira and Watery Baffin are obvious choices, while farsighted children can use both Watery Baffin and Primotec Kids, which go all the way up to +8,0.
There are also special swimming goggles for children with refractive errors (astigmatism), where Primotec Delta RX has been one of the most well-known models.
With the right model your child gets both clear vision and a secure experience in the water - whether it's for swim school, club training or vacation in the pool.
At first glance, prescription swimming goggles look just like regular swimming goggles - and thankfully so. There should of course be no difference.
They have the same adjustable straps, the same fit and the same watertight silicone seal. The big difference is in the lens.
In prescription swimming goggles the lens is equipped with an optical correction so you can see clearly underwater - in the same way as with ordinary glasses or contact lenses. This means that whether you are nearsighted or farsighted you can orient yourself better, swim more relaxed and avoid issues such as headaches or losing your bearings.
The lens appearance is almost identical to a normal lens. You can therefore get swimming goggles with clear lenses for indoor use, smoke or mirror lenses for sunny surroundings as well as models with UV protection. Many are also treated with anti-fog spray, so you have clear vision from the first to the last lap.
If you take good care of your prescription swimming goggles, they can last many years - both in terms of fit and visual quality. Most models come with anti-fog treatment from the factory, but this can wear off over time. To maintain clear vision we recommend supplementing with an anti-fog spray or an anti-fog stick, which significantly extends the effect.
After use you should always rinse the goggles in clean, cold water to remove chlorine or salt and then let them air dry. Avoid rubbing the inside of the lens as it can damage the anti-fog coating.
Store the goggles in a goggle case, so they do not get scratched in your bag or exposed to unnecessary pressure. It is a small investment that quickly pays off by extending the lifespan.
With the right care you will get more enjoyment from your prescription swimming goggles - whether you use them at the pool, for training or on vacation in the pool.
If you want to experience the world under the water without compromising your vision, a dive mask with prescription is the obvious choice. While prescription swimming goggles are primarily for training and swimming in a pool or hall, dive masks give you a wider field of view and a more comfortable fit for longer periods in the water.
At Watery you will also find dive masks with prescription, which make snorkeling and holiday dives much more fun - especially if you would otherwise be forced to swim with unclear vision or miss the experience entirely. The masks have large glass surfaces, a small distance to the eyes and a solid frame that ensures both durability and a sharp view underwater.
Whether you're snorkeling in the Mediterranean or exploring colorful fish on a tropical holiday, you can find a dive mask with prescription that matches your needs.
At Watery we pride ourselves on having the best selection of prescription swimming goggles - from our own popular Watery models to the classics from Primotec. We offer both prescription goggles and other options. We know how much clear vision matters for the whole experience in the water, and therefore you will find a range here that covers nearsighted, farsighted and special models.
