Swimming goggles with farsighted prescription

Everyone should be able to enjoy a good swim, and being farsighted should certainly not be a problem. That's why you'll find a carefully considered selection of farsighted swimming goggles on this page, so you can find exactly the pair you need. For this reason, you will also be able to find farsighted swimming goggles with different types of coloured glasses, which is very important in terms of what you need them for.

One thing is for sure, you'll be able to see just as well underwater as above water as if you were wearing your normal contact lenses or glasses.

Possibility of different prescription strengths in one pair of goggles

Not everyone needs the same strength in both eyes, making a pair of goggles with the same strength more or less useless. Or you only want good vision in one eye, which doesn't seem practical.

That's why it's of course possible to customise the strength of the different glasses so that you get the strength that suits your eyes. This also means that you can choose from +1.0 all the way up to +8.0, which covers a very wide range of farsightedness.

This applies to both kids and adults, and should the power ratio change over time - which can be due to many different reasons - you can purchase one glass with the power you need. The glasses themselves are easy to replace, so changing the different strengths of your farsighted swimming goggles is not a problem.

This way, you don't have to buy a new pair of prescription swimming goggles if your vision changes. This is especially beneficial when it comes to kids, where vision can change as they grow up.

Farsighted swimming goggles in the right colour

Glass in swimming goggles is not just glass, as they come in different colours. It matters depending on the activity you want to use them for. So, to make it a little easier to understand, we've listed the different types and their benefits:

  • Clear glass: Giving you a natural view, they work well in low-light conditions and in murky water. However, they do not protect against strong light sources such as sunlight, bright lamps, glare on the water surface or sudden flashes of light. Therefore, they are best suited for indoor use in moderate light conditions.
  • Black/Smoke glass: Are the closest thing to sunglasses designed for use in water. Therefore, you could say that they work under the same conditions in water as you would when wearing sunglasses on land. Therefore, their use also depends a lot on your personal light sensitivity. They are particularly favoured by triathletes in open water as they provide good protection against sunlight, flashes and glare. However, they have the disadvantage that the lower the light conditions, the less you can see. However, they work well both indoors and outdoors.
  • Blue glass: Has the same qualities as clear swimming goggles, but gives your vision a bluish tint. This helps prevent glare from the water surface and flashes of light, so you won't be suddenly blinded while swimming. You also come in other colours, but the functionality is the same.

So depending on your swimming activity, it's worth considering which colour of glass will benefit you the most. If you just want to protect your eyes and be able to see underwater while swimming, then clear goggles are the way to go.

However, if you want to use them both in open water and in the swimming pool without the risk of being bothered by bright light, it's best to choose a pair with smoke glasses.

Stay on top of your equipment - and good maintenance

Once you've finally found a pair of swimming goggles with the right prescription, it's worth taking good care of them. Since it's not quite the same as ordering a pair of regular swimming goggles, it's just annoying if the lens gets scratched or the strap breaks.

Therefore, it's a good idea to treat them the same way you would your regular goggles. You can avoid many accidents by storing them in a case for swimming goggles when you're not using them. This way, you can be sure that they won't break when you store or transport them

All good quality swimming goggles are treated with anti-fog on the inside of the glasses, which means they won't fog up when you wear them. This effect gradually diminishes with each use, which is why we recommend treating them with anti-fog spray yourself. This will prevent them from becoming unusable over time - it would be annoying to finally be able to see with a pair of farsighted swimming goggles, only for them to fog up and you will once again have difficulty seeing when swimming.

We also recommend that you rinse them well in fresh water after each use and make sure they are completely dry before storing them. Chlorine and salt water can be hard on materials over time, and if you don't rinse them off, it will tenderise them. This will eventually cause the skirt around the glasses to leak and the strap to break when you put them on.

Should the strap break anyway, you can buy a new one right here.
