Diving

Many look forward to diving beneath the surface, but often end up with gear that either fits poorly, feels cold, or complicates things more than necessary. With the right setup, diving becomes more comfortable, warmer, and safer, whether you're diving in warm holiday waters or cooler Danish temperatures.

Here, you'll find everything for diving gathered in one place - from diving sets and dive buoys to neoprene (shirts, pants, shoes/boots, gloves, and hoods), diving fins, and wetsuits for diving. So you can focus on the experience - not on adjusting your equipment.

Find the equipment that suits your type of diving

For those who are new or diving on vacation: You'll typically want gear that's easy to choose, comfortable to wear, and quick to start with. Here, diving sets and light neoprene often provide the best "just-get-in-the-water" experience.

For those diving in open water (and possibly in colder waters): Here, it’s especially about warmth, fit, and safety. Neoprene in the right thickness, a hood, and gloves can make a bigger difference than you might think - and a dive buoy is an important extra layer of security when you're in open water.

For those who dive frequently and pay attention to details: You know the feeling that small things mean everything: how the suit fits over the shoulders, if the feet fit perfectly with shoes/boots, and if you get the right balance between freedom of movement and warmth. Here, the right neoprene pieces and diving fins can elevate the entire trip.

Best equipment for diving

The right diving gear depends mostly on where you'll be in the water and how long you plan to be there. Some items are "basics," which most will appreciate immediately - others make the difference between a short dive and a dive where you actually want to stay in the water a bit longer.

Basics for diving

  • Diving set
  • Wetsuits for diving or neoprene shirts/pants (depending on temperature and needs)
  • Diving fins
  • Neoprene shoes or boots (if you dive with boots - or want extra comfort and warmth)

Nice to have (and often what elevates comfort)

  • Diving gloves
  • Neoprene hoods
  • Safety and visibility
  • Dive buoy - especially in open water, near boat traffic, or when you want to be extra visible on the surface

Choose the right diving equipment

  1. Where will you dive?
Will you be in warm holiday waters, or diving in open water at home? The colder the water and the longer you plan to be in it, the more important neoprene and the right combination of pieces become.
  2. Start with fit and comfort
Gear that fits right feels better - and gets used more. Neoprene should usually fit snugly without pinching, and diving fins should feel stable without pressing, so you avoid sore spots and save energy along the way.
  3. Think warmth first - and build from there
If you chill easily, or if you’re diving in colder water, it's beneficial to prioritize a wetsuit or neoprene shirt/pants and then add a hood and gloves. It's often the small additions that make the big difference when you're actually in the water.
  4. Make room for safety and visibility
In open water, it's a good idea to consider visibility from the start. A dive buoy provides extra security if you're near boat traffic, diving over longer distances, or just want to make it easier to be seen on the surface.

Maintenance of neoprene and diving gear

It only takes a few minutes after your trip, but makes a world of difference for both comfort and durability.

  • Always rinse your gear in fresh water after use - especially after saltwater.
  • Let neoprene dry completely before storing it away (preferably in the shade and with good ventilation).
  • Avoid leaving neoprene in direct sunlight or near high heat for long periods.
  • Store neoprene without compressing it: hang it up or lay it flat to maintain its shape.
  • Regularly check for sand and small stones in shoes/boots and openings - they can cause irritation and unnecessary wear.
  • If you have multiple pieces (shirts/pants, hoods, gloves), let them dry separately so everything gets properly aired out.

Ready to hit the water?

Whether you're just starting or you dive often, having the right equipment makes the experience both easier and more enjoyable. Go for a fit you want to wear, and build warmth and safety from there - so you can focus on the best part of diving: the tranquility, the experience, and everything you discover beneath the surface.
