The First Year in Numbers
Let's take a moment to reflect on what has transpired over the past year. I believe we should make it a bit concrete with some numbers and points:
- From 6 to 18 - Today, we have 18 different swim brands covering all the major names like Speedo, Arena, TYR, Aqua Sphere, and MP, as well as more specialized brands like DMC, TripplePoint, Fabiola Molina. Last year, when I launched, the shop only had 6 brands.
- From 18 to 150 - We now have 150 square meters of office and warehouse space right in the pedestrian street here in Horsens, where we've also established a larger showroom. I'm incredibly proud of this. When I started, I stored all the products in my 18 square meter room in my dad's basement.
- From 0 to 2,000 - To date, we've had over 2,000 customers come through Watery.dk (maybe you're one of them?). We started with 0 just 365 days ago.
- From 230 to 543 - We currently have exactly 543 different swim products, ranging from swim boards to supplements and from swimwear to swim posters. We had 230 when we launched.
- From 5 to 5 - It's still 100% me behind most of it, but I couldn't have done any of it without the help of my two parents, who have handled the accounting and all the practical aspects (a heartfelt thank you to both of you!). I've also enlisted a developer and a marketing manager who make all the above possible every day.
When I review the above again, it's actually quite amazing what's happened. And the only people I can thank for it are you and all the others who are now part of our rapidly growing #teamWatery.

The Future of Watery.dk
But I'm not done yet. In fact, I've barely begun, especially when I compare the above with the exciting journey I have planned for the next five years. And I want you with me!
Here are some concrete things I can reveal that we’ll be doing over the next year:
- Hosting a weekly open trial event at our premises here in Horsens, where you can try everything from gear to swimwear to ensure you get exactly what you need.
- Expanding our brands with many new additions. For instance, we are currently finalizing a deal with the new Swedish swimwear brand Groth, as suggested by one of you.
- Growing the team (So if you’re interested in joining #teamWatery—possibly even by this Christmas, keep a close eye on this blog and Facebook.)
- Redesigning Watery.dk completely to ensure the site operates perfectly—also on mobile.
- Introducing our own... (it's a pretty exciting development that I prefer to unveil when we're ready)
- And many more exciting surprises that I'll be revealing soon.
