Neoprene gloves - Recommendations

If you do watersports in Ireland all year round, the water temperature will mostly be too low to go without neoprene gloves. You would, however, for the most part, be able to cope with a neoprene thickness around 2 to 4 mm - you need to get to winter before you need additional thickness.

The special part about neoprene gloves is, apart from the construction in the neoprene, that improves the heat, the grippy coating on the inside of the palm. This provides a better grip in the water during swimming, and almost sucks it in, so you can get more pressure on your arm strokes.

When selecting your neoprene gloves, it’s most of all about the price - and hence the quality - and in colder months the thickness of the neoprene.

  • Velcro with extra long strap that must go around twice, to ensure an extra tight close
  • Made from 2 mm especially elastic neoprene that gives a natural feeling under the swim - as if you were wearing no gloves at all
  • Double blind stitched and glued in the seams for least possible water flow
  • Stretch-function for optimal flexibility in the fingers
  • Made in Yamamoto-neoprene for maximum movement and heat insulation
  • Optimal during spring, summer, and autumn
