Swim belt

When it comes to teaching your kid (or yourself) to swim, a swim belt is a must. It's been that way for a long time, and it still is. On this page you will find a selection of specially selected swim belts for both kids and adults from well-known brands such as Beco and Aqua Sphere. So your kid or yourself can't help but stay afloat, whether it's at the beach or in the swimming pool.

Best swim belts for kids (and adults)

You and your kid probably already know it well.

The long swim belt in soft foam in the three colours blue, yellow and red with a nylon strap for around the stomach from the swimming pool.

These are the ones we at Watery.dk also recommend for kids, because they work just by keeping them afloat, are super comfortable to wear and are easy and quick to put on and take off (it has to be quick when the little one needs to go to the toilet).

These swim belts are available in three sizes (and therefore colours):

- 2 to 3 years
- 4 to 6 years
- 6 to 12 years

With these sizes, you're sure to get a swim belt that also fits your kid. They are sometimes also called a swim belt because that's what the smallest children often use them for - swimming. In the old days, it was usually a cork belt that was used, but today they have been replaced with a swim belt and bathing belt in the same design, but with foam instead of cork.

It is therefore rare to find a cork belt today, as most swim belts are made of other materials that often provide better buoyancy than the old cork belts did..

Can you bring your own swim belt to the swimming pool?

Yes, you can.

And that's why it's a good idea to get your own.

However, you should be aware that it can easily be swapped with the ones you already find in some swimming pools (because not all swimming pools have swim belts or bathing belts). The swim belts you find on this site are largely the same as the ones you'll find at the swimming pool - but then you have the option of using the belt at home and not least at the beach (where the kid needs to stay afloat).

But yes, in most swimming pools you are allowed to bring your own swim belt (along with a swim vest or arm wings, by the way).

Both arm wings, swim belts and swim vests?

When it comes to buoyancy in the water, there are several different tools you can use.

In addition to swim belts, there are also arm wings and swim vests.

Normally, we recommend either using a swim belt and arm wings together or using a swim vest.

The choice between the two is mostly up to you and what your kid is most comfortable using. There really isn't much difference between the two.

In case you and your kid are going to use the swim belt for a trip to the beach, a pair of swim shoes will actually be a good addition to the swim belt, so your kid's feet are also protected from the sharp rocks and they are also made with a non-slip bottom..
