The neoprene thickness has been specially selected for advanced swimmers who need high flexibility and extra buoyancy, especially at the thighs. That's why the Calder Rapid generally gives you less lift at the legs and chest compared to typical swim wetsuits, but a higher level of freedom in the arms. It’s engineered with just 1.5 mm neoprene at the neck and collar, 2.5 mm on the shoulders, arms, armpits, wrists, and ankles, 3.0 mm on the chest, back, and lower legs, and 3.5 mm at the waist, hips, and thighs. The Calder Rapid also includes our special 3 mm transition panels inside the lower legs for speedy T1 transitions.

The entire suit is SCS Smooth-Skin treated, making sure water can’t seep in and keeping you dry inside—no heavy, waterlogged suit here. How to Care for Your Calder Rapid Wetsuit

Taking care of your wetsuit properly after every swim is key for long-lasting performance. Neoprene can get damaged if it’s exposed too long to saltwater or pool chlorine.

Rinse your suit in cold water after each use. If it gets extra dirty, use a small amount of pH-neutral soap to keep the neoprene in top shape.

Let it hang to dry until it's dry inside and out before you fold or store it. You can do this indoors (in a well-ventilated space) or outside (but never directly under the sun).

When storing your wetsuit, don’t just bunch it up. Instead, hang it over the middle on a hanger, so it doesn’t create creases in delicate areas like the shoulders, arms, or legs, and so the suit keeps its shape.

How to Put On and Take Off Your Calder Rapid Wetsuit

1. Unzip the back completely and fold the top of the wetsuit down.
2. Put one leg in all the way, then the other.
3. With gloves or carefully using your fingers, pull the suit up over your hips so it sits properly at your waist.
4. Next, pull the suit up further so you can slip one arm in all the way, then the other, making sure the suit fits snugly around your body.
5. Reach for the long nylon cord on the back and gently zip the suit all the way up.
6. Close the Velcro flap at the top and secure the cord at the zipper base using the attached Velcro.
