Introducing our top-of-the-line wetsuit for men: the Calder Rapid. Designed for experienced swimmers, where every second counts, and comfort and full flexibility are key. Loaded with features such as a YKK breakaway zipper, 100% Yamamoto #39 neoprene, SCS surface coating to reduce water resistance, taped seams in the legs and arms for durable stitching, and Speed-cuff panels on the forearms for enhanced feel in the water.

Calder Rapid is crafted from the world’s finest neoprene, Yamamoto #39, which, unlike other types that are oil-based, is derived from limestone. This not only enhances durability but also provides exceptional flexibility throughout the suit.

The neoprene thickness is strategically designed for advanced swimmers who require maximum flexibility and buoyancy, especially in the thighs. As a result, the Calder Rapid wetsuit has less buoyancy in the legs and chest compared to typical swimming wetsuits but offers unparalleled flexibility in the arms. Achieved with 1.5mm neoprene in the armpits and neck, 2mm in the arms, 2.5mm in the legs, 3mm in the chest and back, and 3.5mm in the thighs. This design allows the swimmer to glide naturally and effortlessly in the water while maintaining unique flexibility.

The suit's unique breakaway YKK zipper, exclusive to the Calder Rapid, makes it exceptionally quick to put on and take off. It features an attached mesh cord for easy unzipping on the fly.

The feel in the water is crucial for experienced swimmers. The 1.5mm Speed-cuff panels on the forearms feel like a second skin, gripping the water and making each stroke more powerful. Reducing buoyancy in the arms also results in less fatigue, as you won’t be fighting against the natural buoyancy that thicker neoprene would cause during a swim stroke.

A common irritation is the claustrophobic feeling around the neck many experience with wetsuits. We've eliminated this with a low-cut neckline and the use of ultra-thin 1.5mm Yamamoto #39 neoprene, providing a perfect blend of flexibility and longevity.

Calder Rapid also features our special 2mm transition panels on the inside lower legs to help you switch quickly in T1.

The entire wetsuit is smooth-skin surface treated to prevent water from penetrating the neoprene, keeping you dry inside and ensuring the suit doesn’t get heavy. Instead, water beads off, reducing drying time after swimming. The smooth skin also provides a protective layer, making it resistant to fingernail cuts or quick wetsuit removals, which typically cause unwanted holes.

Caring for your Calder Rapid Wetsuit During Cleaning and Storage

Proper care of the wetsuit after each swim is crucial for its long-term durability. Neoprene can deteriorate over time due to excessive salt from the sea or too much chlorine from swimming pools.

Rinse the wetsuit in cold water after each use and use a small amount of pH-neutral soap if it becomes particularly dirty to maintain the neoprene's optimal condition.

Hang it to dry until all moisture is gone from both the inside and outside before storing it. This can be done indoors (with good ventilation) or outdoors (but not in direct sunlight).

When storing the wetsuit, do not simply roll it up. Instead, hang it over the middle on a hanger to avoid folding in sensitive areas (shoulders, arms, legs) and preserve the wetsuit's structure.

How to Put On and Take Off the Calder Rapid Wetsuit

1. Fully unzip the back zipper and fold down the top of the wetsuit.
2. Insert one leg completely through first, then the other leg.
3. Using either gloves or avoiding fingernails, pull the wetsuit up over the hips in small sections until it fits around the waist.
4. Pull it up further so one arm can go all the way through, then the other arm, fitting snugly on the body.
5. At the back, grab the long nylon cord and gently pull the zipper up all the way.
6. Close the velcro flap at the top and secure the nylon cord at the start of the zipper with the attached velcro.
