Without a neoprene hood in Ireland, most open water swimmers will be able to nod in recognition that a brain freeze is almost inevitable - and it can actually be dangerous. Our most popular neoprene hood and the absolute top model is this Calder Pro hood in 4 mm neoprene

This is Watery's premium neoprene hood, which combines warmth with great hydrodynamics (makes the least possible water resistance) through the water. In addition, we have added an extra piece at the neck to ensure that the hood goes all the way down to and under the wetsuit. Something no other neoprene caps do in the same way.

Besides brain freeze, the experience with many other neoprene hoods is that they feel tight and inflexible to wear when there is only one size - particularly around the chin. This is often because they are made to fit many heads of all sizes and shapes.

You avoid this with the Calder Pro, which is made in 4 different sizes, so that you get a neoprene hood that fits you as best as possible.
