The shoe itself is built with a lightweight and flexible mesh on top, a Solyte midsole with bounce-back function, and a non-slip outsole with 2.5 mm foam with small holes that provide a particularly breathable environment for the feet and make the shoes quick-drying after any trip in the water. 

Kawaii swim shoes are made without straps or laces, making the shoes quick and easy to put on and take off. In addition, a small strap is added at the back to make it even easier.

The main purpose of a swim shoe is, of course, to avoid slipping by the pool, stepping on glass shards, or on wet stones in the water. The outsole is made non-slip with a water-grip function that comes from the special design of the outsole, allowing water to seep up between the construction, providing you with a solid foothold in any situation or surface. 

Drainage holes are also added in between the sole construction, allowing water to quickly seep out of the shoe again, so you avoid a shoe filled with water after coming back up - hence they are also ideal for hiking and similar activities. These drainage holes are made so small that neither nails, sharp stones, nor anything toxic in the water can come up into the shoe. This is due to the thicker 2.5 mm foam sole.

This strong foam sole also continues up in front of the toes at the front, where typical swim shoes usually get holes in the fabric or the seams if not well protected. This does not happen with these.

The upper part of the Kawaii swim shoe is also made of rubber, but more comfortable and flexible, providing the necessary elasticity to move precisely as needed without feeling uncomfortable or restricted. This is also generally known to be particularly durable and long-lasting, so they can withstand most things. 

Inside the swim shoes is a comfortable and shock-absorbing EVA sole (lighter and more flexible than typical soles), giving a bounce-back sensation while running/walking, avoiding hard shocks up through the body.
