How to care for your competition swimwear

Competition swimsuits and jammers are technical gear with welded seams and attached logos. They’ll last longer and keep their fit and compression if you treat them gently:

• Rinse right away in cool, clean water after every use—even after swimming in chlorine or salt water. Don’t wait until you're home.
• Hand wash only. Never use the washing machine or dryer. Heat, spinning, and rubbing break down the fibers and loosen the seams and logos.
• Use mild soap or a detergent made for swimwear. Never use bleach or fabric softener.
• Never wring out your swimsuit. Gently press out the excess water.
• Lay it flat to dry, in the shade—keep it away from direct sun, radiators, or other heat sources.
• Never leave your suit wet in a bag or rolled up in a towel—it traps heat and chemicals that break down the fabric.
• Avoid rough surfaces like pool edges or tiles that could snag the fabric, seams, or logos.
