How to Care for Your Competition Swimwear

Competition swimsuits and swim trunks are technical garments with bonded seams and applied logos. They last longest and retain fit and compression when treated gently:

• Rinse immediately in cold, clean water after each use—even after exposure to chlorine and saltwater. Do not wait until you get home.
• Hand wash only. Never use a washing machine or dryer. Heat, spinning, and agitation break down fibers and loosen seams and applied logos.
• Use mild soap or detergent designed for swimwear. Avoid bleach and fabric softener.
• Never wring the garments. Gently press out the water.
• Dry flat in the shade, away from direct sun, radiators, and other heat sources.
• Do not leave garments wet in a bag or rolled in a towel—this traps heat and chemicals that degrade the material.
• Avoid rough surfaces like pool edges and tiles that can snag seams and logos.
