Warning for new ice bathers when using the Hero ice bathtub

It is also important to avoid ice baths if you are pregnant, have a history of heart disease or high blood pressure, diabetes, conditions such as neuropathy or retinal damage, use a pacemaker, have a history of frostbite, have open wounds, have undergone recent surgery, suffer from epilepsy or have other health concerns or risk factors.

Be aware that kids are particularly sensitive to extreme temperatures and it is always recommended to supervise kids when using the ice bath.

When your body is exposed to cold water, your core body temperature drops, causing blood vessels to constrict and reducing blood flow. This, in combination with existing health problems, can cause an increase in blood pressure and increase the risk of cardiac arrest or stroke.
