How to take care of your competition swimwear

Competition swimsuits and jammers are technical garments with bonded seams and applied logos. They last longer and keep their fit and compression when you treat them gently:

• Rinse straight away in cold, clean water after every use—even after chlorine or saltwater. Don’t wait until you get home!
• Hand wash only. Never put it in the washing machine or dryer. Heat, spinning, and rubbing break down the fibers and loosen seams and logos.
• Use mild soap or a detergent made for swimwear. Avoid bleach and fabric softener.
• Never wring out the suit. Gently press the water out instead.
• Dry flat in the shade—never in direct sun, on radiators, or near other heat sources.
• Don’t leave your suit wet in a bag or rolled in a towel—heat and chemicals trapped inside will break down the fabric faster.
• Avoid rough surfaces like pool edges and tiles, which can snag seams and logos.

With Arena competition suits, the size can also vary depending on the level of compression you want—so keep that in mind if you’re between sizes.
