Accessories for open water - Recommendations

There is a world of accessories for open water swimming, which are all supposed to make it easier to be an open water swimmer, or to do other types of outdoor watersports.

This is both regarding easy changing, optimal safety, easy transport to and from the water, and to avoid chafing from the swim bag.

When it comes to the easy changing, we all know about sand everywhere on the beach. This can be easily avoided with specially designed buckets / mats for changing.

Regarding the optimal safety, it is recommended to always swim with a colourful bathing cap under the swim bag itself. This would be in the colours of orange, fluo green and yellow and pink. You should also always think about how you would call for help or make others aware of your position and distress. To provide easy transport to and from swimming, there are several solutions. You can use the typical swim bag, but there are also numerous bags developed especially for open water swimming.

If you need to go paddleboarding, it is always nice to have some of your belongings and maybe a towel with you, without the risk of them getting wet. Here, a waterproof backpack will be a great solution, and on top of this they’re easy to use. And when you have your kit sorted out, you will find that activities in open water become a lot easier.
