How to care for your racing swimwear

Competition swimsuits and jammers are technical gear with bonded seams and printed logos. Take care of them gently to maximize their lifespan and keep the fit and compression just right:

• Rinse right away in cold, clean water after each use—including after swimming in chlorine or saltwater. Don't wait until you get home.
• Hand wash only. Never use a washing machine or tumble dryer. Heat, spinning, and friction damage the fibers and loosen seams and logos.
• Use mild soap or detergent made for swimwear. Skip bleach and fabric softener.
• Never wring out your suit. Gently press out the water instead.
• Lay flat to dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, radiators, or any heat source.
• Don’t leave your suit wet in a bag or rolled up in a towel—trapped heat and chemicals will wear down the fabric.
